Public Safety Reports

The LaGrange Police Department is investigating an entering auto case that occurred at D+D Roofing Inc., located on East Lukken Industrial Drive.

According to the police report, several of the company’s trucks were broken into sometime between 5 p.m. on Thursday and Friday at 6 a.m. Three sets of Dewalt portable impact drills, valued at $200 each and a tool bag containing assorted hand tools valued at $200 were missing from one of the trucks. The tool box from that truck, which is valued at $300, as pried open and was unusable.

All together, three toolboxes were pried open, but the complainant was unable to identify if any items were missing from the other two trucks. The suspects apparently also tried to steal a Winco Industrial generator from the bed of a truck. They cut through a security cable locking the generator to the truck and attempted to pull it from the vehicle, according to the report. However, police believe it was left behind due to its large size and weight. The generator is valued at $2,500.

The items taken were secured in a storage building and had been checked at 9 p.m. the previous night. When employees returned the next morning, one of the roll up doors was raised.
