House recently damaged by fire broken into

A woman’s house that was recently damaged by a fire was allegedly broken into on the 100 block of Poplar Circle between 9 p.m. on Tuesday and 5:20 p.m. on Wednesday. The woman said she has been living off site in a hotel. When the house was empty during those hours, an unknown individual entered the residence and stole a Sanyo 32-inch flat screen television, valued at $230, a Dremel tool, valued at $79, various Craftsman and Stanley hand tools, valued at $75, two Craftsman cordless drills, valued at $100 each. The total value of the items taken were $584. The woman also said an air conditioner was missing from a window, but police found the unit in the bushes below the window. She said the air conditioner was in the window the day prior.

Man allegedly shot at on Crovat Street

A man said he was allegedly shot at on the 200 block of East Crovat Street around 10:40 p.m. on Wednesday. The man said he was walking home when he had a confrontation with another man. After words were exchanged, the other man started shooting at the man. The victim was not injured but several of the bullets hit the house occupied by his mother and juvenile sibling.
