The Humane Society of LaGrange-Troup County is holding its 16th annual Fur Ball at the Highland Country Club at 6 p.m. on Aug.19.
Diana Martin, co-chair for the event, said this year’s theme is Viva Paws Vegas. The night will start with a cocktail hour and auction sneak peek before the silent auction and high roller buffet begin at 7 p.m.
Most of the auctions will be themed such as Christmas, vacation or art, Martin said.
Other things to be auctioned will be mayor of LaGrange and Sheriff of Troup County for a day for children of the ages from nine to 16 years old, Martin said.
“We’re thinking parents and grandchildren are interested in that for their kids,” she said.
The event will have live music performed by Lisa and the E-Lusion with an open floor for dancing, Martin said.
There will be an Elvis impersonator in the first hour, Martin said.
Last year, 160 people attended the event and the society raised approximately $24,000. Martin said the society raises more and more money every year.
“It’s always gone up every year, and we hope to beat the year before,” she said.
Martin said that the society is always looking for volunteers along with coming to the event. She said the group hopes it can out raise themselves from 2016.
“We hope we’ll get a good showing,” Martin said.
Dress is casual.
Tickets are $55 and can be purchased online at www.lagrangehumane.org/events.
