Frances Bradfield Brown Hollis

Frances Bradfield Brown Hollis, 87, of LaGrange went to her heavenly home on Monday, Sept. 4, 2017.

Mrs. Hollis was born Jan. 28, 1930, in LaGrange, GA, daughter of the late James David Bradfield and Ruth Darden Bradfield. She was a member of Loyd Presbyterian Church and the Women’s Circle.  Mrs. Hollis worked with her first husband, Dr. Edward E. Brown Jr. at his office in Valley, AL until his passing. After his death, she went back to college and received her Bachelor of Science Degree in home economics, clothing, textile and related arts.  Later in life, she married James Wesley Hollis and began her career with West Point Pepperell, working for the West Point Pepperell Mill Store until retirement.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, David E. and Donna Day Brown of LaGrange; grandchildren, Scott Galyon of Manchester, TN, Jeff Galyon (Karrie) of LaGrange, and Anna Brown of LaGrange; great grandchildren, Jake Galyon, Trevor Galyon, Chloe Galyon, Cole Galyon, Caroline Galyon, Carson Galyon, Tammy Barrett, and Kaydence Barrett, all of LaGrange; brothers, Elmo Bradfield, Joe Bradfield (Jeanine), and Sydney Bradfield; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside funeral services will be held at noon Saturday, Sept. 9, 2017, in Loyd Presbyterian Church Cemetery with Rev. Rix Threadgill officiating.  The gathering of family and friends will be on Saturday, Sept. 9, 2017, from 11 a.m. to noon at Loyd Presbyterian Church.  The family will be at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, David and Donna Brown, 589 Priddy Road, LaGrange, GA.

Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made to Loyd Presbyterian Church in memory of Mrs. Frances Bradfield Brown Hollis.
