Donations needed for annual Thanksgiving meal

The Up All Night Thanksgiving and Christmas Dinner will be held again this year, continuing a tradition that is more than two decades old.
The Thanksgiving dinner is organized by WTRP 620, a local radio station in LaGrange. The dinner is made possible because of donations, such as turkeys, hams, canned vegetables, cranberry sauce, canned corn and dressing, among other things. It’ll be held at the Old Cannon Street school.
Donations can be taken to Lakes-Dunson-Robertson Funeral Home, Good Seed Christian Bookstore or to the WTRP radio station.
“We expect to feed 1,000 people,” said Jake Sessions, one of the organizers of the event.
Sessions said there are a lot of people that work hard over Thanksgiving week to make the meal possible.
“Everybody wants to do their civic duty. Everybody wants to get involved over the holidays,” he said.
Sessions said they feed West Point, Lanett, Lafayette and LaGrange.
Donations can also be made via check to Up All Night Charities. Sessions said they are not a nonprofit and that this is made possible by the people in the community.
“This is done strictly by the community,” Sessions said.
