Deborah Price Hall of Brevard, North Carolina, has been named Vice President for Finance and Operations at LaGrange College, according to President Dan McAlexander. She will take over the responsibilities held by Marty Pirrman, who is retiring at the end of January.

“Deborah brings a wide breadth of experience to her new role here in LaGrange,” said President Dan McAlexander. “She has a long record of outstanding service at Brevard College, and she is highly respected in her local community and the region’s higher education community, as well.

“I know she will be an asset on the LaGrange campus, and we are thrilled to have her join our leadership team.”

Hall said it has been a bittersweet decision to leave Brevard after 22 years.

“I have very much enjoyed working with President Joyce, the senior leadership, faculty and staff there,” she said.  “However, I am very excited about this next chapter, and so it is with great pleasure that I will be joining the LaGrange College family. It is a beautiful and inviting campus, and I look forward to being a part of its growth in the upcoming years.”

Brevard President Dr. David Joyce praised Hall’s years of service to his institution.

“Deb Hall has been a trusted part of the Brevard family for over two decades,” he said. “We appreciate all she has done to effectively and safely steward the college’s financial well-being during her tenure. And while we are happy for her as she begins this next chapter, she certainly will be missed.”

Hall has served as vice president for business and finance at Brevard College since 2003. She previously served the college as vice president for finance and controller.

She is a magna cum laude graduate of the University of North Carolina in Asheville with a degree in business management and administration, earning distinction in management with minors in accounting and psychology.

She is a member of the national and southern Associations of College and University Business Officers, Institute of Management Accountants, Southern Association of Colleges and Schools — Commission on Colleges, and Education and Institutional Insurance Administrators, as well as a graduate of the College and Business Management Institute and Vision Brevard community leadership program.

Hall is a board member of the Transylvania County Economic Alliance, Mission Health System-Transylvania Regional Hospital, Brevard/Transylvania Chamber of Commerce (board president, vice president for membership services and treasurer), Focus 2020 — City of Brevard Strategic Planning Committee, United Way of Transylvania County and Transylvania Vocational Services (for more than 20 years).
