Habitat for Humanity ReStore will hold an open house on Saturday morning. Executive director Steven Brown said the store wanted do something special for its customers since business was slow in September.

“We want to get everybody enthused again about the ReStore. One of the reasons we had a rough September (was) the roads were torn up,” Brown said. “We want to re-energize it, and we thought we hadn’t had an event in quite a while. We think it’s time to have an event.”

Brown said the nonprofit has been working on the open house for more than two months.

In addition to refreshments being served, Brown said the company will also have brand new items for sale.

“We’ve kind of cleaned up, straightened up and got new products. We’ll have some special products that we normally don’t have, which I think will be pretty exciting when folks come in. we’ll have some items for sale that we don’t normally have for sale,” he said. “There will be plenty of really great donations of used things, but there will be a lot of new products available.”

Brown said the business hopes this event will make a positive impact with their donors and shoppers.

“And one thing we’ve really wanted to do is to turn our donors into shoppers and our shoppers into donors. That’s one thing we think this event will help out with,” he said.” It’s just an opportunity (where) we want to thank the community for all of their great support. We’d love to see them on Saturday morning.”

Habitat for Humanity ReStores sell new and gently used furniture, appliances, home accessories, building materials and more items to the community. Proceeds from the store are used to build strength, stability, self-reliance and shelter in local communities.

The open house will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at 333 Main Street.
