An armed robbery occurred at the BB&T Bank on Broad Street Thursday before 10:30 p.m. According to a LaGrange Police Department press release, a man was driving his girlfriend to the bank to make a money drop for her job.

When they pulled up to the drop box, an unknown African American man wearing a hoodie over his head and a black ski mask approached the vehicle.

The man told police the suspect pointed a handgun and demanded money.

The woman gave the suspect the money bag, which had an undisclosed amount of currency according to the police report.

The suspect then fled on foot.
