Woman arrested on drug, street gang charges

Shaquavia Woodyard, 26, was arrested Wednesday for schedule four controlled substance, marijuana and evidence of participation in a criminal street gang. Woodyard’s arrests came as part of a separate investigation following a homicide that occurred Jan. 29 on Lady Elaine Street last week.
Woodyard lists her home address as the address where the shooting took place, according to the Troup County Sheriff’s Office arrest/ release reports.
Police found drugs and evidence of her participation in a gang, according to LaGrange Police Lt. Dale Strickland.
According to the Troup County Jail arrest/release reports, Woodyard is charged with possession of a schedule 4 controlled substance, marijuana sale/possession with intent to distribute and four counts of participation in a criminal street gang. Her bond is set at $15,000.
House burglarized, guns stolen
A house was allegedly burglarized and three guns and ammo were stolen at the 100 block of Jarboe Street Wednesday between 5:50 a.m. and 3 p.m.
The homeowner told police when he checked his closet, he noticed his handguns were missing and his personal lock box was open.
The homeowner said the latch to the box was broken off and an unknown amount of money was missing.
The homeowner told police he noticed a window screen was torn off and there was dirt on some clothes that were lying under the window as if someone stepped on them entering through it.
According to the police report, while officers processed the scene, the homeowner found a glove that did not belong to him in a closet.
