Hogansville to hold coffee talk with city leaders

Hogansville residents can tell city leaders about their daily grinds at Station Coffee House Thursday morning. Mayor Bill Stankiewicz, City Manager David Milliron and Police Chief Brian Harr will be at the café for residents to meet and talk to from 8 a.m. until 9:30 a.m.
On Monday, Milliron said at the Hogansville City Council meeting that the event was created after he started getting out and introducing himself to the community a month and a half ago.
“There was comment that [residents] never met the police chief,” Milliron said “I circled back with the mayor and said ‘You know from an administrative standpoint, it would be good to potentially get together and do meet and greats, listen to folks, hear folks concerns.’ It’s no different if they come down to city hall and talk with us, but this is an opportunity for us to talk about service delivery and how we’re providing services and how we can do it better. So, I discussed with the mayor about doing a coffee. The mayor said it was a great idea.”
Milliron said this meeting is the first of a series. Harr said the event is a good way to be approachable with citizens and available over coffee, but he joked he will probably be drinking tea.
“I think it’s a great opportunity for me as a chief, the city manager and the mayor to be able to sit down with the citizens, exchange ideas, listen to concerns and just talk about where we’re at now, where we’re going and meet them outside the office when there’s not something wrong, and just be available,” Harr said.
Station Coffee House is located at 100 East Main Street.
