Man arrested, $45,000 worth of methamphetamine seized

A LaGrange man was arrested and $45,000 worth of methamphetamine was seized following a month-long investigation by the Troup County Sheriff’s Office. Investigators stopped Ryan Gorman, 40, on Interstate 85 Saturday at 12:40 a.m., according to a TCSO press release.

Officers discovered two pounds of methamphetamine and some clonazepam pills he was transporting to Troup County from the Atlanta area, according to the press release.

Officers also found a Smith & Wesson .380 caliber pistol in his vehicle, according to the press release.

Gorman is charged with trafficking amphetamine, possession of schedule five controlled substance, possession of firearm or knife during certain felonies, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and driving with suspended registration, according to the TCSO.

According to the press release, more arrests are pending as the investigation continues.

Gorman is in the Troup County Jail.
