Four vehicles broken into at Great Wolf Sunday

Four vehicles were allegedly entered in the parking lot at Great Wolf Lodge Sunday at different times.

The first vehicle owner told police his vehicle was entered and a wallet, three iPads and an iPhone were stolen between 2 p.m. and 7:53 p.m. According to the police report, the driver’s door window was ripped out and the lock on the door was punched and pried open.

Two of the iPad minis were valued at $600 each, the iPad Air 2 was valued at $700 and the iPhone X was valued at $1,300.

According to the police report, officers were called out later to the scene at 11:20 p.m. A second vehicle owner told police their car’s door lock was punched in.

According to the police report, nothing was taken.

A third vehicle owner told police the driver side door lock was punched in and her wallet was stolen out of her purse.

While searching the parking lot, a couple approached police who said their vehicle was tampered with. According to the police report, the vehicle was covered in handprints and smears, along with scratches.

The vehicle’s paint on the driver’s door had been chipped, according to the police report. The panel under the passenger door handle was pulled off.

No items were reported missing and the vehicle was still locked, according to the police report.

LaGrange men arrested  for drug charges

Two LaGrange men were arrested for multiple drug charges Sunday at 2:31 a.m. According to the police report, an officer noticed Shun Glass, 23, driving 53 miles per hour in a 35-mph zone.

While talking to Glass and his passenger, 25-year-old Eric Downs, an officer allegedly noticed the smell of burnt marijuana. According to the police report, Glass and Downs denied having marijuana. While performing a vehicle search, police found a digital scale and a blunt wrapper with burnt marijuana. The two were then placed under arrest.

According to the police report, while waiting for the vehicle owner to pick up his car, Downs said he needed an ambulance because he couldn’t breathe. He was later transported to an emergency room.

Before going to the hospital, Downs had been placed in a police vehicle temporarily. According to the police report, officers found a bag containing suspected methamphetamine in the vehicle Downs had been in. The officer saw on video where Downs retrieved the bag from the back of his pants and threw it next to him. He then saw Downs lean over and eat some of the suspected methamphetamine, according to the report.

According to the Troup County Jail arrest/release records, Glass was charged with possession of a drug related object, possession of marijuana less than an ounce and speeding 15-18 mph over the speed limit.

Man arrested for

cocaine possession

A Columbus man was arrested for cocaine possession Saturday at the 600 block of South Greenwood Street. According to the police report, an officer was approached by a woman who said Jerry Smith, 49, was making her uncomfortable.

Police soon located Smith at a different building on South Greenwood Street. Police ran his name, and it came back with a probation violation warrant through Muscogee County, according to the police report.

A burnt pipe that had white residue consistent with cocaine was found in Smith’s backpack, according to the police report.

According to the Troup County Jail arrest/release records, Smith was charged with cocaine possession and possession of a drug related object. His bond was $10,000.

Handgun taken in alleged burglary

A camper at the 300 block of Revis Street was allegedly burglarized and a handgun was taken between Saturday at 5 p.m. and Sunday at 2 a.m. The gun owner told police that the handgun was valued at $300.

The owner told police an air conditioning unit was pushed out of the rear window.

Gun stolen from car

A 9mm Taurus handgun was allegedly stolen from a vehicle at the Autumn Ridge Homes. The owner told police the last time he was aware of his gun’s location was Thursday at 7:30 a.m. before he discovered it was missing Friday morning.  The owner told police he was certain he locked his vehicle.
