Linda Kay Sutton Asplund, of Pine Mountain Valley, passed away on June 29, 2018, at the WellStar West Georgia Hospice. Mrs. Asplund was born on May 18, 1947, in Hutchinson, Kansas to Joseph Kenneth Sutton and Rube Mae Cross Sutton.

She was a retired educator, having taught at a private school from 1979 to 1984, and then at Portland Bible College from 1988 to 2006.

She was a Godly woman who believed in keeping step with God’s spirit and was a faithful intercessor of prayer. She was a member of New Community Church and will be greatly missed by all.

She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Larry Ken Asplund; children, Charity Asplund-Toombs and her husband Ken and, James Asplund and his wife Sarah; grandchildren, Dominick Vescio, Jonathan Asplund, Ian Asplund and Joshua Asplund; siblings, Neva Martin (Bob), Shirlee Parks and Ted Sutton; extended family and a host of friends.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 3, 2018, at 1 p.m. at the New Community Church with the Dr. Lamar Hardwick officiating. Interment will follow at Meadoway Gardens. Family will receive friends on Tuesday at New Community Church beginning at 11:30 a.m. until service hour.
