Drugs found when room was cleaned at local hotel

A Bryco .380 pistol and bags containing suspected marijuana and methamphetamine were allegedly found Wednesday in a bedroom closet at the Rodeway Inn. According to the police report, two digital scales were also found in a backpack in the room.
The manager told police the items were discovered in the morning when housekeeping went to clean the room.
The manager told police that he called the man who was staying in the room before calling 911, and the man said the guns and drugs were his friend’s and his friend was a drug dealer.
According to the police report, an officer talked to the man, and he said a friend told him to rent a room for him. The man would not give the name to the police officer and handed his phone to the person he rented the room for. According to the police report, the man said he didn’t know where his friend lives or what his last name is.
Gun stolen from car
A vehicle was entered and a Glock 17 was taken at the Whispering Pines Apartments complex between Saturday at 9 p.m. and Sunday at 11 a.m. The owner values the gun at $300.
The owner told police he found his vehicle’s driver side door slightly opened. A hoodie and a water bottle he didn’t own were found inside.
Man arrested for drug
possession at restaurant
A LaGrange man was arrested for cocaine possession after disturbing customers and yelling inside the Taco Bell on Commerce Avenue Friday.
According to the police report, an officer met with 28-year-old Rozelle Griffin who was stumbling out of the store.
According to the police report, officers asked if he had anything to drink and he said he took his sleeping medication. According to the police report, an officer noticed a bulge in Griffin’s pocket and asked if he had his ID.
Griffin gave the officer his ID and police told him not to put his hand back in his pocket. According to the police report, Griffin struggled with police before he was detained.
After securing Griffin, police noticed a glass smoking device containing suspected cocaine on the ground.
According to the police report, AMR responded to the scene to clear Griffin before he was taken to jail.
While enroute to the jail, the officer was told that Griffin took a “Phantom” drink that contained six sleeping pills mixed in it, according to the police report.
According to Troup County Jail arrest/release reports, Griffin was charged with public drunkenness, obstruction, cocaine possession and possession of a drug related object. His bond was $7,500.
