Fresh fragrances were abound Main Street in LaGrange as homemade candle and gift shop Boardwalk Limited officially opened with a ribbon cutting Friday morning. The store sells multiple scented products including, candles, wax melts, body scrubs and soaps.

“Not only have you put your stamp on [the store] with the décor, but especially what you’re carrying inside certainly made with love with all of your homemade soaps, and your candles and all the other special touches that you’re being able to bring to the store,” said Page Estes, LaGrange-Troup Chamber of Commerce president. “We know that it is truly a labor of love. And for that we are so appreciative you’re letting the chamber be a part of what we know is going to be a great success in downtown LaGrange.”

The shop was originally run online for two years in Newnan, according owner Gloria King. After winning the LaGrange Mall’s Summer Showcase for favorite retail, King decided to open a store in the city at the suggestion of her fiancé, Colin Ramsey.

“I’m just really excited to open it and be on Main Street in downtown,” King said.

King said she named the store after the song “Under the Boardwalk.”

“I remember when she started making [candles], so it’s very emotional that she’s come all this way to begin,” said Christie Houston, King’s future sister-in-law.

Boardwalk Limited is located at 108 Main Street and is open Monday through Friday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
