Two arrested for entering auto, aggravated assault

A woman and a 17-year-old minor were arrested Tuesday after allegedly breaking into a vehicle and then driving into a woman, who was not seriously injured.

According to a press release from the Troup County Sheriff’s Office, Brittany Allred, 23, and the minor stole $450 and a driver’s license from a woman’s vehicle. The woman tried to stop the Allred and the minor and stood in front of the suspect’s vehicle as they attempted to leave the Troup County Government Center parking garage. The suspects allegedly hit her in the leg with their vehicle, according to the press release. Troup County AMR treated the victim at the scene, but she requested no further assistance.

According to the press release, investigators identified the vehicle owner and address using the suspect’s license plate. When talking to the vehicle owner, she said her granddaughter, the minor, was driving her car with Allred as a passenger.

Both were charged with aggravated assault and entering an auto, according to the press release.
