Mr. Gene Autry Edmondson

Gene Autry Edmondson passed away Tuesday.

He was born Dec. 18, 1949, in Heard County, Georgia, to the late Calvin Boykin and Lucille Strickland, and reared by the late Jim and Hassie Edmondson.

Gene was a 1968 graduate of Ethel W. Kight and was employed by Ford Motor Company of Detroit until retirement.

Survivors include one daughter, Tamika Truitt, Wayne, Michigan; two sons, Mitchell Williams, Ohio and Sergio Edmondson, Michigan; two grandsons; one great granddaughter; four sisters, Elizabeth Ridgeway, LaGrange, Georgia; Leva (Johnnie) Thornton, Franklin, Georgia; Janice Cammon, Knoxville, Tennessee; and Victoria Gardin, Detroit, Michigan; three brothers, Sam Cameron, Alfred Boykin, LaGrange, Georgia; and Jessie (Matilda) Strickland, Carrolton, Georgia; three aunts:  Eula Darden, LaGrange; Grace Allen, Inkster, Michigan; and Rosa Austin, Atlanta, Georgia; one uncle, Henry Boykin, LaGrange; and a very special cousin and caregiver, Priscilla Williams; and a host of niece, nephews, cousins and friends.

The service will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Antioch Baptist Church.

The family will be at their home at 1311 Elm Street.

The excellent care of Mr. Edmondson is being provided by Lakes-Dunson-Robertson Funeral Home.
