Christmas activities and celebrations in Troup County will be in full swing starting with a breakfast and pictures with Santa at Bellevue on Saturday. The LaGrange Woman’s Club is hosting the event from 9 a.m. until noon at the historic home.
Kathleen Earnest of the LaGrange Woman’s Club said this is the first time they’ve held this fundraiser for Bellevue. The breakfast includes pancakes, craft activities, photo opportunities with Santa and a Christmas book.
“I think we’re going to have around 40 kids,” Earnest said.
Admission is $10 for children 3 to 8-years-old, and $2 to just take a picture with Santa.
“[People should go] because they get to have a good time, get to sit on Santa’s lap and experience the beauty of an antebellum home all at the same time,” Earnest said.
The woman’s club’s annual Christmas tea will be held at Bellevue on Sunday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
If you want to further your Christmas experience, the Lafayette Ballet Company will perform “The Nutcracker” at the Troup High Fine Arts building at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Saturday and at 2 p.m. on Sunday. This will be the 35th annual performance of the Tchaikovsky classic, and local community figures from Debbie Burdette to Mike Pauley will be making cameos as Mother Ginger.
If listening to Christmas music gets you in the spirit, LaGrange College will perform it’s “Service of Nine Lessons and Carols” on Sunday at Callaway Auditorium at 7 p.m.
