Mr. Timothy Lee Smith, age 65, of LaGrange, passed away on Jan. 2, 2019, at the WellStar West Georgia Hospice.  Mr. Smith was born on March 21, 1953, in Opelika, Alabama, to the late Charles Edward Smith and Bobbie Jean Waldrep Ballew. Smith proudly served his country in the United States Army and was a member of the Driven Church in LaGrange. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Linda Cason; and step father, Manuel Helton. Survivors include his children, Angie Smith, Christy Hilyer (Rodney) and Tara Love; grandchildren, Justin Jones, Reagan Jones, Stephen Hilyer, Abby Smith, Annabella Senter and Walker Love; sisters, DeeAnna Bickford, Cindy Taylor and Tonya Helton Waters; brother, Manuel Helton Jr.; extended family and friends. Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 4, 2019, at the Higgins LaGrange Chapel. Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m. with Pastor Adam Farley officiating. Interment will follow at Shadowlawn Cemetery. Flowers are accepted or memorial donations may be made to Higgins Funeral Home.
