Armed robbery reported on Swanson Street

On Friday around 4:30 p.m., the LaGrange Police Department responded to reports of an armed robbery on the 800 block of Swanson Street.

According to a LPD press release, a juvenile victim said that a man, identified as Issac Nixon, produced a black handled knife and demanded the victim’s cell phone. The victim reportedly refused to give Nixon the cell phone, and Nixon then reportedly put down the knife and used force to take the phone from the victim. According to LPD, the victim did not sustain any injuries, and the phone was later recovered at a separate location.

The criminal investigations section was notified and began an investigation into the incident, according to the press release. Nixon reportedly left the scene prior to police arrival, but he later contacted the police and turned himself in.

Nixon was arrested and transported to the Troup County Jail.
