On Sunday morning, at approximately 12:30 a.m., LaGrange police officers responded to the 777 Store on Greenville Street in regards to an attempted armed robbery.

According to Sgt. William Nelson with LPD, officers made contact with the victim who said two unknown black males entered the store and showed her a handgun.

“She immediately crouched down after they pointed the weapon at her,” Nelson said. “They were completely covered and ran away after she crouched down.”

According to Nelson, the suspects did not get away with anything from the store. A video will soon be posted on the LPD’s social media site of the suspects, but Nelson said due to the fact that they were completely covered it is hard to identify who they are.

According to a press release from LPD, the Criminal Investigation Section has initiated an investigation into this incident.

Additionally, no one was injured during the attempted robbery.

If anyone has any information about this incident, they are asked contact the LaGrange Police Department at (706) 883-2603 or Troup County Crime Stoppers at (706) 812-1000.
