Mrs. Barbara Ann Brown, 85, of LaGrange, passed away on May 29, 2020, at the Tanner Medical Center.
Mrs. Brown was born on Sept. 25, 1934, in Dadeville, Alabama, to the late Almon Pierce Sexton and Decie Duffey Sexton.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Namon Artis Parmer, Sr., her second husband, Carey Paul Brown, Jr., six siblings, and mother who raised her, Katie Mae Sexton. She graduated from LaGrange High School in 1953. Mrs. Brown, in addition to being a homemaker and caring for the needs of her family, worked for many years after the death of Mr. Parmer at Signal Knitting.
She was a member of Grace Baptist Church. Survivors include her three sons, Artis Parmer and his wife Jo, Greg Parmer and his wife Janice and Charles Parmer; brother, Richard Hill and his wife Martha; grandchildren, Cecily Gulledge (Corey), Charity Jordan (Tom), Kayla Smith (D.J.) and Cody Parmer; nine great-grandchildren; step-son, Ronnie Brown (Sherrie); special caregiver, Yolanda Sanders; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. Graveside services were held on Monday, June 1, 2020, at 1 p.m. at the Shadowlawn Cemetery with Rev. Donny Benefield and Rev. Jimmy Pruitt officiating.
