Mr. Oliver Leon Shelton, 84, passed away Sunday, Jan. 24, 2021 at West Georgia Medical Center.

Mr. Shelton was born Dec. 20, 1936 in Roanoke, AL.  He was employed with NOK before retiring.  Mr. Shelton was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys Waters Shelton, mother, Alie Cosper, daughter, Delaine Thrower, granddaughter, Kimberly Moman-Shelton, and grandsons, Michael Thrower Jr. and Jeffery Thrower.

Mr. Shelton is survived by his children, Stanley Shelton (Shelia), James Akery (Teresa), Terry Akery, Michael Thrower Sr., and Arla Akery; grandchildren, Tia Crooks (Michael), James Akery III (Jessi), Chad Moman, and Neal Moman; great grandchildren, Hunter Wood (Cammie), Holden Thrower (Jenna), Annie Crooks (Trystan), Hayden Crooks, Nathan Crooks, Colten Crooks, James Akery IV, Cami Akery, Curtis Akery, and Easton Akery; and 7 great great grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held 6:00 P.M. Saturday, Jan. 30, 2021 in the Chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, LaGrange, GA.  The family will greet friends immediately following the service.  The family requests that face masks and social distancing be observed during this time.
