Rueben William Butts, (89), passed away peacefully on Monday, Jan. 9, 2023, with his family by his side. 

Rueben was born on Oct. 27, 1933, to the late Byron and Fannie Gravett Butts. 

Rueben served his country in the United States Army and was honorably discharged. He was a true sports enthusiast, but he had a true passion for stock car racing and baseball.    

Reuben was a family man and dearly loved his children and grandchildren. 

Rueben is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Glenda Cammons Butts; children, Alan Butts, Keith Butts and his wife Kandie; grandchildren, Brett Butts Cammons, Bryan Butts, Colby Butts, Ansley Butts, Avery Butts, Hayes Johnson, Ava Johnson and great grandson, Brooks Cammons (Kristi). 

He is also survived by his brother, Athel Butts and his wife Joyce along with several nieces and nephews. 

The funeral service celebrating the life Reuben lived is Thursday, Jan. 12, 2023, at 2 P.M. in the chapel of McKoon Funeral Home, 38 Jackson Street, in Newnan with Rev. Jamie Sickert officiating. 

 Burial will follow the service at Shadowlawn Cemetery in LaGrange, Georgia. 

 The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 5:30 P.M. until 7:30 P.M. at McKoon Funeral Home.
