Mrs. Jan Flowers Avant, a native of LaGrange, passed away Saturday at Piedmont Atlanta Medical Center.

She was born Feb. 26, 1943, in LaGrange, Georgia to the late Tom Flowers II and Elizabeth Fannin Flowers.

Jan was saved and united with Old Mount Olive Baptist Church at an early age, graduated from East Depot High School and attended Albany State.

She was previously employed by Playtex, Inc. and retired from Southern Ambulance.

She is survived by her daughter, Tesa (Larry) Evans, Newnan, Georgia; two precious grandsons; siblings:  Tommie (Ozzie) Barham, Silver Springs, Maryland; Lewis (Cynthia) Flowers, Fayetteville, Georgia; Diane Flowers, Atlanta, Georgia; Horace (Patricia) Flowers, LaGrange, Georgia; brothers-in-law:  Herman (Laura) Avant, Jersey City, New Jersey; Dave (Lynnette) Avant, Brewton, Alabama; sister-in-law, Bobbie (HK) Matthews, Brewton, Alabama; aunt, Bernice Holmes, Atlanta, Georgia; uncles:  Horace (Julia) Fannin, Opelika, Alabama; Booker T. (Martha) Fannin, Aliquippa, Pennsylvania; and a loving group of nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends.

The Celebration of Life Service will be Saturday, Feb. 11, 2023, at 3 P.M. at Warren Temple United Methodist Church and will be LIVE STREAMED via FaceBook@LakesDunsonRobertson.

The excellent care of Mrs. Avant is being provided by Lakes-Dunson-Robertson Funeral Home.
