Burglar takes air-conditioning units

A homeowner in the process of moving returned to her residence in the 100 block of Beeman Street about 7:40 p.m. on Sunday to find someone stole two air-conditioning units from the house.

LaGrange police discovered a burglar tried to kick in the back door, then entered a partially opened window near the front door.

The two Haier brand window units were valued at $112 apiece.

Thefts

• A man told LaGrange police a friend took his cellphone during a gathering about 10 p.m. Sunday at a home in the first block of Cary Street.

The victim said he saw the man using the Galaxy Prime phone shortly before it disappeared. The friend even answered a text message the victim sent to the phone, a report states.

The phone was valued at $350.

• A woman called LaGrange police on Monday just after 1 p.m. when she noticed someone stole her son’s bicycle off the front porch of their home in the 700 block of Jenkins Street.

The bike was described as a silver Mongoose Mountain Bike with a white flashlight on the handlebars and LED lights on the spokes of the wheels.

The bicycle was valued at $300.

• A woman called LaGrange police about 12:30 a.m. Monday after she discovered someone broke into her Dodge Charger in front of a residence in the 200 block of Youngs Mill Road.

The victim said her Michael Kors purse, a cell phone, identification card and bank cards.

The woman estimated the value of her items was $125.

She told police she left her car unlocked while she visited a friend and was gone just over two hours.
