Mr. Grover E. Brown, Jr., 68, of LaGrange, Georgia passed away Sunday, Sept. 17, 2017, at his home.

Mr. Brown was born March 17, 1949, in LaGrange, GA, son of the late Grover E. Brown, Sr. and Velma Irene Prescott Brown.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in Vietnam.  During his military career, he received numerous medals including the Distinguished Flying Cross, Air Commendation Medal, Air Medal, Purple Heart, and Good Conduct Medal.  Mr. Brown attended Baptist Tabernacle Church and was employed with Milliken Design Center as the Maintenance Supervisor before retiring.

Mr. Brown is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Casey and Jonathan Wood; son and daughter-in-law, Dan and LaCretia Brown; four grandchildren, Kevin Beegle, Katarina Wood, Emma Brown, and Alex Brown; sister and brother-in-law, Cynthia and Eddie Murphy; and several nieces and nephews.

The gathering of family and friends will be on Wednesday from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary.  The Celebration of Life service will be 5 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2017, in the Chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary with the Rev. Jimmy McMillian officiating.

Immediately following the Celebration of Life service the family will gather at the home of Mr. Grover E. Brown, Jr, 309 Cheyenne Drive, LaGrange, GA.  The family would like to invite family and friends to join them for continued remembrances and fellowship.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Baptist Tabernacle Church, 849 South Davis Road, LaGrange, GA 30240 in memory of Mr. Grover E. Brown, Jr.
