Wain Richard Nixon, age 89, of LaGrange, passed away on May 15, 2018, at his residence. He was born on July 7, 1928, to the late Jake Richard Nixon and Katie Lou Jackson Nixon of LaGrange, Georgia. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Wain Nixon, Jr.; brother, James A. Nixon; and sister, Gean Black. 

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Darlene Nixon; son, Ricky Nixon (Karen); daughters, Katie Lou Parker and Kathy Lawhorn (Tim); sister, Nell Kinnsey; grandchildren, Kindall Dodgen, Krystal Cardwell (Josh), Jennifer Parker, Kevin Wain Parker, Jake Lawhorn, Matt Nixon, Jason Storm Parker, Nick Nixon and Jesse Lawhorn (Taylor); seven great-grandchildren; sister in law, Karen Milkey; extended family and friends. 

The family will have visitation from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, May 17, 2018, at the Long Cane Baptist Church. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, May 18, 2018, at the Long Cane Baptist Church with Pastor Tom Owensby and Deacon Ray Nelson officiating.

Interment will follow at the church cemetery.

Flowers will be accepted or donations made to the Long Cane Baptist Church Building Fund.
