Robert Lee Rogers Jr. 57, passed away Tuesday morning Jan. 8, 2019, after an extended illness.  

He was born in Decatur, Illinois, on Nov. 6, 1961, and lived with his parents in LaGrange, Georgia, for the last 4 years of his life. He is survived by his mother, Kay Bonacorsi, and stepfather, Bill Bonacorsi of LaGrange; sister, Colleen Nix of Pensacola, Florida; brothers, Mike Rogers of Gainsville, Florida; Don Peters of Oklahoma; and nieces and nephews.

Robert served in the Navy as an electronic technician and continued in this line of work after discharge, living in St. Petersburg Beach, Florida. Robert also worked as an assistant chef at several renowned restaurants in St. Petersburg Beach, Florida. He later moved to Pensacola, Florida, for a number of years before coming to LaGrange, Georgia.

During his illnesses, Robert received outstanding medical services from the Veterans  Administration facilities in Biloxi, Mississippi, Atlanta, Georgia and Newnan, Georgia.

There will not be any formal services or visitation in LaGrange. Striffler Hamby is in charge of arrangements. At a later date, there will be a private memorial in Pensacola, Florida.
