James Winford Parmer, 83, of LaGrange, passed away on June 7, 2020, at his residence. He was born on Nov. 18, 1936, to the late Rudy Parmer and Lavern White Parmer in Randolph County, Alabama. 

He served in the United States Army and was employed with Milliken and Company as a Plant Manager. 

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, James Parmer, Jr.; daughter, Karen Gentry; brother, Roger Parmer.

Survivors include his son, Kenneth Parmer (C.J.); sisters, Lamerele Kelly (Fred), Faye Caldwell; grandchildren, Steve Gravitt, Kevin Gentry, Leanne Gesselman, Latisha Parmer, Tiffany Pressley, Matt Parmer, Michelle Parmer, Paige Parmer, Allison Tucker; many great grandchildren; extended family and friends.

Family will have a graveside service on at Shadowlawn Cemetery on Thursday, June 11, 2020 at 1 p.m. 

A viewing will be held at the cemetery from noon to 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of James Parmer to WellStar West Georgia Hospice, 1510 Vernon Rd, LaGrange, Georfia 30240.
