A drink machine outside PC Screen Printing on Hill Street was opened and $100 worth of bills and coins were taken from it. The theft was discovered Monday before 8:40 a.m. According to the LaGrange Police Department report, a customer was trying to pay for a drink from the machine, but it would not accept dollar bills. The store owner told police she discovered the machine was unlocked and the door was pushed shut.

According to the police report, the machine was not damaged and an officer noticed that whoever took the money must have had a key to the machine.

House burglarized

A house on the 200 block of Handley Street was burglarized between Nov. 21 at 2:15 p.m. and Nov. 24 at 11 p.m. The homeowner told LaGrange police when she and her friend returned, she gave her friends the house key and told her to unlock the back door.

When the friend when to the back, the door was unlocked. According to the police report, the owner entered the house and discovered $974 worth of items were missing. Items taken include a Sony PlayStation 4 game system valued at $400, a Sony PS4 controller valued at $50, an Amazon Fire Stick valued at $174, a Madden 18 PS4 game valued at $50 and ten other PS4 games valued at $30. The owner told police that her dresser’s top drawer was ajar and clothes were moved to a side and that her closet also had clothes pushed aside. She said her personal documents were also taken.

Dog goes missing

A jack russell terrier went missing from a residence at the 300 block of Dix Street Saturday before 9 p.m. The owner told police he went inside his residence, and when he came out 20 minutes later to feed his dog, it was missing.

The owner said his dog was not attached to its runner and that the runner that was hooked on the dog’s collar was wrapped around a chair next to the residence’s steps. According to the police report, the dog is brown and white and had a black collar.

Counterfeit $20s discovered

Three unrelated incidents of counterfeit $20 bills were discovered between Friday around 12:45 p.m. and Monday morning. A $20 counterfeit was discovered at the Dollar General on Commerce Avenue Friday. According to the police report, a customer who tried to pay with the bill said she received it from a hotel she was staying at.

A second counterfeit $20 was also discovered at the same Dollar General Saturday before 8 p.m. The customer who tried paying with it told police she got the bill from a nearby store on Harmony Church Road after making a purchase before leaving there around 7 p.m.

Three additional counterfeit $20 bills were discovered after a woman tried paying her electricity bill at the City of LaGrange building.

The woman told police she did not know the money she had was fake.
