A 15-year-old girl was charged Thursday for falsely reporting statutory rape, according to a LaGrange Police Department police report. LaGrange police were investigating after the teenager disappeared from her residence May 25 and was found at a home with older males Monday, according to a police report.

“She was located, and where she was located there were several older males in their 20s, one of which she said she had consensual sex with,” Strickland said.

Police said in a press release on Monday that they had identified a person of interest, but no one was charged in the case. 

According to the police report, the teenager told a forensic interviewer that she made up the allegation.
