LPD investigates attempted burglary

LaGrange police are investigating after a suspect attempted to enter a residence on the 100 block of Garfield Street and shot at the home Friday around 9:10 p.m. According to a LPD press release, the homeowner and his friend were watching television when they heard a knock at the door.

“They opened the door and there [were two suspects] with a gun,” LPD Sgt. William Nelson said. “[The victims] started struggling to shut the door, and during this process, they heard one shot fired. They called the police and the [suspects were] gone.”

According to the press release, the suspects were described as African American, with slim builds and were wearing dark clothing and black scarves over their faces.
