LaGrange looking for input on housing, economic development

The City of LaGrange is holding a public hearing Jan. 9 to obtain citizen input. 

According to a press release from the city, city staff are applying to the Georgia Department of Community Affairs for a CDBG (Community Development Block Grant) Innovative Grant of up to $2,000,000.

These funds must be used for primarily benefit low and moderate income persons.

More specific details regarding eligible activities, plans to assist displaced persons (if any), the estimated amount of funds proposed to be used for activities to benefit low and moderate income persons and the rating system will be provided at a public hearing, which will be held at Benjamin Harvey Hills Apartment, or The Phoenix, located at 201 Chatham Street in LaGrange. 

The hearing will be in the community building at the apartment complex on Jan. 9, 2020, at 6 p.m.
